A TEAM of enthusiastic young people engaged in the Prince's Trustprogramme chose to renovate the garden at Youth Shelter's Internetcaf and learning centre in Loughborough.
Youth Shelter, in Queens Road, is a charity which looks afterhomeless and vulnerable 16 to 25-year-olds in the area.
The project involved demolishing an old fence, replacing it,digging out concrete blocks and dead tree stumps, creating a flowerborder, and erecting garden furniture and building a BBQ.
The various items were donated by Build Centre, Harlows,Homebase, Jewsons, TBD Morris and Tesco's.
MP Nicky Morgan, who opened the garden, said "I'd like tocongratulate everyone involved in working so hard to create theYouth Shelter garden. I can see how much work has gone intoachieving such a tranquil space and it has clearly been a real teameffort. I was particularly impressed with the hand built BBQ!" BrianHeywood, CEO of Youth Shelter, added: "The garden is now a welcomingsun trap for clients and visitors using our Internet caf."
The young people involved were Shannon Bennett, Nathan Evans, BenQuinney, Lee Eley, Robyn Dytham, Gabbie Himschoot, Mary-Rose Wilson,Jake Whithead and Sarah Dodd."
