NSW: Woman killed, six injured in head-on collision

SYDNEY, April 20 AAP - A woman has been killed and six other people, including three
young children, have been injured in a head-on collision near Sydney, police say.

A woman aged in her late 20s who was driving one of the two cars died at the scene
of the crash on Picton Road at Cataract about 1pm (AEST) today, police say.

The woman's front seat passenger, a man aged in his late 20s was airlifted to Liverpool
Hospital with serious spinal injuries.

Three young children in the rear of the dead woman's car escaped with minor injuries.

The female driver of the second car has been taken to St George Hospital with multiple
injuries and is in a stable condition.

A man in the second car was treated for minor injuries.

Police say they cannot at this stage confirm reports the woman killed in the crash
was an off-duty police officer or any of the relationships between the people involved
in the crash.
